Our Vision and Values
Vision
Science & Policy Exchange aims to be the leading organization in Québec and Canada amplifying the voices and promoting the inclusion of the next generation of scientists and researchers as stakeholders in science policy.
Values
When working towards accomplishing its mission and vision, SPE is committed to respecting and promoting the following values:
- Evidence-informed analyses and decision making SPE values and promotes the importance of evidence in all aspects of decision making.
- Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility SPE respects and promotes equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDI&A) throughout the organization and all of its activities.
- Open dialogue, exchange, and engagement SPE believes that open dialogue between science, policy, and society is critical to developing and maintaining trust in research and decision making, and to fighting misinformation.
- Creative Problem Solving SPE values creativity and adaptability in problem-solving, and uses its platform to elevate fresh ideas and perspectives from the next generation.
As a Montreal-based non-profit organisation, we acknowledge that we operate on the unceeded territory of the Ho-de-no-sau-nee-ga (Haudenosaunee) and Kanienʼkehá ka (Mohawk) peoples.

- To foster the voice of students and early-career researchers in evidence-based decision making.
- To bring together leading experts from academia, industry, and government to engage and inform students and the public on issues at the interface of science and policy.
