25 years after that 1700 scientists signed the first warning to humanity, more than 15000 scientists signed a second one. And the findings are without appeal: almost all of the climate issues identified in a 1992 report have worsened.
The only positive outcome of the first warning is the ozone hole reduction. William Ripple who initiated this second campaign said that it illustrates what humanity can do when change is needed. "We must recognize, in our day-to-day lives and in our governing institutions, that Earth with all its life is our only home" the letter warns.
On the climate component, the international panel for climate change (or IPCC, peace Nobel prize winner 2007) synthesizes and publishes all scientific knowledge on the topic every five years. You can find their latest short report here,.
