Science minister Kirsty Duncan has inaugurated a new project, the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment or CHIME telescope.

This telescope, one of the largest in the world and resulting from the work of Canadian scientists all over the country, will look for signs of our universe expanding and acceleration. Dr. Kaspi, an astrophysicist involved in the CHIME program said ”that whatever CHIME finds, its existence is a testament to what a country with a comparatively modest science budget can do on its own”.
