Big science receives $328-million boost from Ottawa

On Monday, federal Science Minister Kirsty Duncan announced 328-million dollars in funding to 17 national research facilities. The funded facilities include range from facilities looking to improve access to high-speed computing in Canada (Compute Canada) to the ship Amundsen which conducts a large Arctic research program that includes health research for Northern Canadian communities. The funding, awarded through CFI, is partially provided by federal government, while the remainder is made up from other sources, including provincial governments.
